Cub Climb Melody

Help

For Cub Climb Melody on iPhone and iPad: a note on the staff, a button for its name, and a cub who climbs with your child from Middle C to key signatures.

Getting into the grown-ups’ area

Settings, each child’s progress and buying are behind a check that a grown-up is there:

  1. Press and hold the circle until it fills, about two seconds.
  2. Type the four digits that are written out in words. For “seven, two, nine, four”, type 7294.

After three wrong tries it locks for 30 seconds, with new digits after.

What’s free, and the family pass

Free is up to four children, each with the start of their climb. On piano that’s every white key from Middle C to B, enough to read a first song.

The family pass is one purchase. It opens all the music for every child in your house, and Family Sharing lets the rest of your family use it on their own devices. Nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

The family pass is locked on a new iPhone or iPad

Sign in with the Apple Account that bought it, open For grown-ups and tap Restore, or tap Already bought it? Restore on the family pass screen. Purchases are never charged twice. If Restore finds nothing, check which Apple Account is in Settings → your name → Media & Purchases.

Stopping children from buying

The grown-ups’ check stops accidental taps, but it won’t stop a determined child. Apple’s settings are the real protection:

  • Family Sharing’s Ask to Buy sends every purchase to a parent first. If you approve the family pass, it opens in the app by itself.
  • Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions can turn off in-app purchases entirely.

Refunds

Apple handles every payment in the app, and only Apple can give a refund; we can’t. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a refund is given, the family pass closes again in the app.

Children and progress

  • To add a child, open For grown-ups and tap Add a child. To change a name, buddy, age or instrument, start a child over, or remove them, tap the pencil beside the child.
  • Progress is kept on the device, not in an account. We don’t have accounts, so we can’t move it or recover it.
  • Moving to a new iPhone or iPad from an iCloud or computer backup brings it along. Deleting the app removes it.

No sound

A right answer plays the note on the child’s own instrument, and the cub reads aloud for the youngest. Either can be turned off in For grown-ups → Sounds. If you hear nothing, check the volume and the ring/silent switch: the app plays alongside other audio, so the silent switch silences it too.

Privacy

Nothing about your child leaves the device. The details are on the privacy page.
