  1. 1. C — cut. Rule: a thing and what it does. A ruler is what you measure with. A scissors is what you cut with, the same way.
  2. 2. B — eagle. Rule: they are all birds. Robin, crow and sparrow are all birds. Eagle belongs with them for the same reason.
  3. 3. A — boat. Rule: a part and its whole. A flame is one part of a fire. A sail is one part of a boat in the same way.
  4. 4. B — bang. Rule: a thing and what it does. A whistle is what you blow with. A hammer is what you bang with, the same way.
  5. 5. A — peach. Rule: they are all fruit. Plum, banana and pear are all fruit. Peach belongs with them for the same reason.
  6. 6. E — hot. Rule: a small one and a big one. A pebble is a small boulder. A warm is a small hot, the same way.
  7. 7. E — scratched. Rule: what the first part makes happen. Being itchy is the clue — that is why they scratched.
  8. 8. C — fly. Rule: they are all insects. Bee, wasp and ant are all insects. Fly belongs with them for the same reason.
  9. 9. C — rested. Rule: what the first part makes happen. Being tired is the clue — that is why they rested.
  10. 10. A — yawned. Rule: what the first part makes happen. Being sleepy is the clue — that is why they yawned.
